Maria Eilberg
Trainer
Date of birth: 9 January 1984.
Lives: Pink Green Farm, Beoley, Redditch, Worcestershire.
Major achievements: Maria has been a member of the Pony, Junior, and Young Rider European teams from 1998‐2005, winning four medals, two pony European silver team medals (Manitu) and two young rider European bronze team medals (Don Perry and Topscore.) She was British Under‐21 Champion in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003.
In 2001, she took the British Medium Restricted title with Prinz Heinrich and, in 2004, she took the British Advanced Medium title with Topscore. In 2006, she was selected as travelling reserve for the World Equestrian Games in Aachen with her father's Two Sox. The following year, she won the British Grand Prix Freestyle Championship.
In 2008, Maria was the travelling reserve for the Olympics with Two Sox. She retained her British Grand Prix Freestyle title and became National Champion.
Maria continued this good form in 2009. She started her international season with a 2nd in the grand prix and a grand prix freestyle win at La Mandria CDI on Two Sox, with a score of 74.10%. She followed this up with a 2nd and 3rd place in the grand prix and grand prix freestyle respectively at Hartpury CDI in July, recording a score of 72.35% in the kur. At Hickstead CDI Maria and Two Sox finished 3rd in the grand prix special on 67.63%. These strong results led to their selection for silver medal winning British team at the Alltech FEI Windsor European Dressage Championships 2009.
Throughout 2010 Maria enjoyed success, with four 2nd places on the Sunshine Tour CDI in March riding Two Sox, scoring an impressive 70% in the grand prix and winning 3rd place in the Hickstead CDI5* grand prix special in August with 69.87%.
Current competition horses: Two Sox, a 16.3hh German‐bred bay gelding by Ehrentusch out of Furstin, born 1994 and owned by her father Ferdi.
Woodlander Rockstar, a 16.2hh British‐bred black stallion by Rotspun out of Savannah, born in 2002 and owned by Lynne Crowden of the Woodlander Stud.
First competitive experience: "Weston Park Pony Club Championships. Aged eleven, I won the under‐13 dressage title." Trainer: "My mum got me started, taking me to my first Premier League shows where I contested the FEI Pony classes with Willoway Seasong. Dad [Ferdi Eilberg, one of Britain's top riders and trainers originally from Germany] took over when I was 15."
Superstitions: "I believe money spiders are a good omen. Apart from that, I always wear a comfy set of competition clothes and like to have quiet before my test."
Most admired riders: "I respect dad a hell of a lot. He always gets horses to perform. Dad aside, I admire Isabell Werth the most as her way of riding is so relaxed, Anky van Grunsven because she has a good competitive attitude and Hubertus Schmidt because he has a deep and balanced seat. Imke Bartels is a new one on the list since watching her at the Hickstead CDIO in 2005."
Qualities looked for in a horse "I like them to have a good temperament for training and character/personality as I like my horses cute and cuddly in the stable, not grouchy. I like to form a bond with them."
Favourite dressage venues: "Internationally Aachen definitely has the 'wow' factor and I enjoy the Spanish Sunshine Tour because of its terrific atmosphere. Nationally, Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire has brilliant surfaces and facilities and the National Championships at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire have a lovely big warm‐up area. Hickstead in Sussex also has a great sense of occasion.
What other career would you have chosen: "Work with animals or children."
Favourite meal: "My mum reckons my breakfast is indulgent. I have a big bowl of cereal with about six types of cereal plus a banana on top. It's quite a challenge to pile it up, but it does keep me going until 3pm. Otherwise I like takeaways as a bit of a treat."
Favourite drink: "I drink mostly water – it's boring, but I'm usually thirsty."
Maria started riding aged five on a Shetland pony called Midnight Cowboy. She was competing at the Weston Park Pony Club Championships aged 11 with Willoway Seasong, an international event pony she was given to ride after he had been written off due to a leg injury. After competing in a few one‐day events, Willoway Seasong had another leg injury and the vet advised not to jump him anymore. "He had nice paces, but I didn't think we'd get onto the team for the Pony European Dressage Championships," she says. They did, but Maria and Willoway Seasong didn't make it to the 1998 Pony European Dressage Championships. "We were at the final selection trials. We had done our tests and had been selected. Then we were asked to do a trot‐up in the afternoon and he was lame," says Maria philosophically.
The following year she was given the ride on Manitu N, with whom she made her name and won her first medal at the 1999 Pony European Championships. She finished fifth individually, just three marks off the bronze medal. "By this time I was hooked," she says.
Maria is an Open University student in her "spare time". She has taken German and French A Levels and hopes to study Spanish in the future. "I hate going to a country and not being able to speak the language," she says.
She has also completed her British Dressage Apprenticeship with her father Ferdi.
Becky Moody
Trainer
With two big sisters who were keen on horses, school and music, and were also members of the Eglinton Pony Club, there was competition in plenty. And wonderful neighbours who encouraged a bit of a wild streak as far as horses were concerned meant that Becky spent much time trying very hard on her 10.2 pony Kelly, to keep up with big sisters as they explored the Ayrshire countryside and enjoyed great venues with the PC.
In 1986 a move to Yorkshire with horses in tow and a different Pony Club and more ponies meant the further development of a good basic grounding in all aspects of horsemanship. She competed in all disciplines but dressage very quickly became an all consuming interest and from the age of nine she represented the Rockwood Pony Club at the Area Dressage for ten consecutive years, qualifying five times for the P.C. National Championships on five different horses.
Age thirteen she began training with Ian Woodhead and the following year was the winner of the Pony Talent Spotting Final and reserve for the Eurpean Pony Team.
All this meant skiving off school and wonderful letters of excuse were invented – to no avail – staff were fully aware of the situation and either approved or considered her to be wasting her academic skills “on horses”.
At fifteen she won her place on the junior European team after winning the team and individual tests at the Hickstead International with Hannah’s 15hh 16 year old highland x thoroughbred Sir Fred. Over the next six years she represented G.B. at four U21 European Championships – two with Paulette Tuckey’s Jordas and two with the Moody Family and Christine Jebson’s Kwadraat. In 1998 and 2000 the team won the bronze medals and in 2000 and 2001 Becky was the highest placed Brit- finishing in eighth place both times.
In 1998 she also won the Winter Novice Championship on Early Bird and the Under 21 Novice Championship on Kabanza. In 2001 Becky and Kwad were the PSG and Int 1 National Champions and in 2002 made their senior international debut at Soley CDI where they again finished best of the Brits in second place in all three small tour classes.
In 2003 she finished ninth in the Grand Prix National Champs with Humble Pie – a horse she has owned and trained since he was 3 years old. In 2004 She was the winner of the Elementary, Medium and Advanced Medium Regional Championships on High Fashion, and was 5th in the GP Special and 3rd in the GP Freestyle on Humble Pie at Fry’s CDI. Hannah and Becky had a great Pas de Deux partnership on Kabanza and Kwadraat with many successes including 2nd at the finals of the Berkeley Homes Inter1 Pas de Deux held at the European Championships at Hickstead in 2003.

Hayley Drakes
People Massage & Reiki
HAYLEY DRAKES - REIKI TEACHER AND PRACTITIONER
Hayley Drakes has used Reiki with our horses. The Reiki helps to alleviate stress and aids relaxation. It is a calming, soothing therapy which helps maintain wellbeing and is really helpful pre-competiton.
Hayley's philosophy is that the animals we care for make us feel good so with Reiki we can do the same for them. She has been involved with horses all her life, so is passionate about helping them to feel as good as they can, mentally as well as physically, so they can perform at their best.
Reiki is never used in place of veterinary treatment or advice, but can be very effective alongside conventional veterinary care to aid recovery time and help with stress related or emotional issues, which in turn affect the physical body. Animals express their feelings mainly through their actions and visible signs of relaxation are often seen when Reiki is given and behaviour afterwards suggests a feeling of calmness.
Hayley also teaches Reiki and is particularly interested in teaching people so they can use Reiki with their own animals and on themselves to help with life's everyday stressful issues. Reiki is a Japanese therapy and the word itself means 'universal life energy'. Anyone and everyone can learn Reiki, it is not a unique gift or a difficult skill to acquire, all that is needed is open-mindedness and a willingness to develop the ability.
Hayley also offers a variety of Holistic Therapies, for people as well as animals, from her base in Belton, North Lincs and her husband Nick works with her with the Animal Reiki.

Emma Jablonski
Equine Body Worker
Equine Body Worker qualified to advanced level, fully insured and member of the International Equine Body Worker's Association.
We are delighted to introduce a series of regular Equine Massage clinics with Equine Body Worker, Emma Jablonski.
£40.00 (1hr individual session includes head to tail assessment and treatment)
Equine massage can help to:
- Improve your horse's way of going - greater elasticity and flexibility, easier lateral movement, longer strides
- Develop muscle tone and improve circulation
- Relieve tension and muscle pain
- Prevent strain, fatigue and risk of injury
- Address soft tissue compensation from previous injuries
- Help your horse to become a 'happy athlete'
Most horses will have areas of muscle tightness and tension which will reduce their ability to perform. It may just be that your horse is more difficult on one rein than the other, or they may have a more severe objection. They tell us in a variety of ways that they are experiencing discomfort - during treatment Emma will be able to discuss with you any stress points that she identifies and how this is possibly affecting your horse's way of going.
Emma is an experienced dressage rider and trainer, currently competing advanced and is a UKCC level 2 qualified dressage trainer. She has 3 horses in competition for the coming 2012 season - 2 working towards PSG and a 4 year old making his debut at Novice. Because Emma is also a competitive rider and trainer, she has a thorough understanding of the way that physical tension in the muscles translates into loss of performance or difficulties when riding.
Rase Veterinary Centre
Equine Vets
The Rase Veterinary Centre has been in existence at Market Rasen for around fifty years. It was founded at a time when all veterinary work was predominantly with horses and farm animals.
Many significant changes have been experienced over the years, including both the establishment of satellite clinics at Louth and Grimsby and sadly the disappearance of much of the farm animal work.
From the very beginning, the practice always had a good reputation for its work with horses. The founder of the practice came out of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps and was an enthusiastic member of the hunting fraternity.
At the present time, the practice has twelve veterinary surgeons. Five of these spend the majority of their working day with horses. Ten years ago the practice moved to new purposed designed premises. This move enabled the facilities to be better developed over a period of time, in order to cope with the increasing equine work load.
David Collins
Coach
Sports Coach David keeps in regular contact with Lara regarding how plans are going and to help plan out the up and coming events.
There needs to be a balance and control of emotions between horse and rider, and through greater riding harmony performance is raised along with personal satisfaction and it once again becomes a joy to ride... even at competitions.
Developing new and exciting coaching techniques which have had proven success in improving riding performance. David Collins' approach takes a holistic approach to both rider and horse which facilitates lower stress levels, greater emotional resilience and focuses upon skills and abilities.

Mum & Dad
Parents :)
It would not be possible to have achieved what I have so far without the support (criticism!!) and love from Mum and Dad.
whether it's a sunny day or a freezing day as and when they are both there to support me.
Dad is chief driver (even though I can now drive myself around! Dad still enjoys the role!) and Mum is the best Mummy you could wish for! She makes sure I have everything I need and I do not now how she gets my jodhpurs so shiny white every time!!
Thank you to both of you, your love and support is what has got me where I am today and I am still learning from you both.
James Wallwork, all family & friends.
I am very lucky to have an understanding boyfriend and family!
James understands that horses are my life and everything revolves around them!
